Do you know how children learn?


Most of the learning happens through play. If you observe children they are constantly playing either with others or with themselves alone. This is a powerful way to learn.  Encourage play and you will discover that child will learn faster. Mohanam Kindergarten activities are designed around four layered development of child – physical, mental, emotional and social.

Physical development

PHYSICAL

Bodily-Kinesthetic & Naturalistic Intelligences

Take care of body.
Keep it clean.
Running, jumping, skipping, climbing, walking, holding, cuddling helps a lot physical development of child.

MENTAL

Verbal-Linguistic, Visual Spatial & Math-Logical Intelligences

Everyone is creative.
Everyone is intelligent.
When you allow children to use their imagination their creativity and intelligence(s) develop.
Playing with toys, kitchen utensils, sand, nature helps in mental development.
Story telling improves language so tell as many stories as you can at home.
Use positive words to develop confidence and courage.

EMOTIONAL

Intrapersonal & Musical Intelligences

Fear and anger are natural emotions if these emotions. Replace fear with love and anger with peace.
Child’s self-confidence is damaged by shouting, yelling, beating and criticizing.
Repeating the following words before sleep and while waking up in morning helps your child to become balance all negative emotions, “I love you, I respect you, I accept you my child as you are. You are wonderful. You are creative. You are confident.”

SOCIAL

Interperonal Intelligences

Respect yourself and respect your child.
Comparison damages self-esteem of child.
To develop self-esteem, appreciate your child whenever he/she comes to you with some new ideas and questions.
If possible at least have one meal together and avoid TV while having food.
Ask your child what he/she has learned today and listen them carefully looking into eyes.
